Helsinki, Finland. Her background is in machine learning with evolving
data. In Helsinki, she leads a research group called Data science and
evolution, which focuses on computational analyses of the changing
world. For the last six years, Indrė has been actively involved in
evolutionary paleontology research studying the mammalian fossil
record. By now Indrė is as a paleontologist as she is a computer
scientist.

Why should art and science work together?

"Science is about regularities, art is about exceptions. Art is personal, science aims to be objective. I think, good science makes the observer care, not to be indifferent, same for art. Art is a way to make science personal so that hopefully more people would care. I think art-science can better trigger reactions and responses together than each on its own."
